Coming to Terms
Posted by: | CommentsThe Populist in Chief once again struck just the right note by telling Diane Sawyer that he would rather do a good job and only serve one term than have the dim-witted electorate reward him with a second term for doing a mediocre job. Here’s a Wash Post story with video.
Boston Straggler
Posted by: | CommentsDemocrats are in a panic over the election to fill the senate seat formerly held by Ted Kennedy. They even misspelled the name of the Bay State in a campaign ad. Obama (o for 2 on trips to Copenhagen) will go there to join the fray this weekend.
Martha Coakley has blown a 30 point lead to Republican Scott Brown. Brown is committed to vote against the senate health care bill if he wins. This enraged the raunchy senator from New York, Chuck Schumer, who called Brown a far right tea-bagger (go here for definition of tea-bagger). Barney Frank, not a far right tea-bagger, says if Brown wins and votes against health care the bill is dead.
Coakley doesn’t seem to have a lot going for her as a people person. While in Washington Monday for a fundraiser by lobbyists for the drug and insurance industry (I thought they were evil), she was approached by a reporter from the Weekly Standard. One of her thugs knocked the reporter down, helped him up, and then continued to block his way. (It’s the second film clip if you click here.)
Brown won me over when he smacked down David Gergen by telling him “it’s not the Kennedy’s seat, it’s not the Democrats’ seat, it’s the people’s seat”.
If you’re interested in more on Coakley here’s an enlightening WSJ column by Dorothy Rabinowitz highlighting her miserable performance in the Gerald Amirault case.
