Wrong Stuff
Posted by: | CommentsNeil Armstrong feels Obama has made a giant leap in the wrong direction by canceling the NASA Constellation program. The president says he’s still spending astronomical sums on space and plans on a mars landing by the mid 2030s. A convenient getaway before social security goes broke in 2041.
Zorba

I’ve had this one sitting around in my sketches file for a while. Zorba the Greek isn’t a household name these days. But with the Greek economy sending the Euro crashing this week and the Germans left to pick up the pieces well… as Dieter would say, now is the time on Sprockets when we dance.
Give It Up for Lent
Posted by: | CommentsObama wants the health care bill passed by March 18. He endorsed using “the budget maneuver known as reconciliation” to pass the unpopular big bill by a simple majority rather than the 60 votes normally needed in the Senate. Here’s the Washington Post story.

Posted by: | CommentsArnold Schwarzenegger said on Meet the Press Sunday that the federal government owes the Golden State. He claims that his state only gets back $0.78 on the dollar from the feds while Alaska gets $1.86. (I accidentally cheated the mushers out of $0.56 in the cartoon.) Go here to see this part of the interview (if you don’t want to hear the whole thing you can fast forward to the 4:50 mark). In a later section of the interview he smacks the California congressional delegation for supporting the health care bill which he says will be an economic blow to their state .

I was out of town last week and missed all the fuss about this tea bagging business, so I looked it up. Oh my. Further reading revealed a protest against Big Government or CNN or both. The protest protesters insisted the whole thing was drummed up by Fox. Debra Saunders didn’t think it made much sense to elect Big Government and then throw a tea party against it. CNN’s Susan Roesgen turned all tax adviser when she interrupted her own interview with a Big Government protester to explain to him that he was eligible for a $400 tax credit.
I thought the media slugfest angle made for a better catch-up cartoon but here’s one I liked using Roesgen Reasoning.
