Tear Down That Wall

Posted by: Bok | Comments (0)

There was something for everyone in Obama’s speech last week – a new brand for Israel, 1967 Classic,  and a new work ethic for the rest of the Mideast.

Bobbing along with the president’s verbal flotsam of Egyptian debt relief, enterprise funds, and IMF / World Bank schemes was this proclamation:

Horse Sense

I got this idea from a Rich Lowry column.

Osama bin Laden famously talked of the weak horse and the strong horse. Obama is the show horse.

For the record, the Show Horse picked Kansas to beat Ohio State in the March Madness final in April.

Choosing Sides in Egypt

Posted by: Bok | Comments (1)

In 1978 Jimmy Carter supported the overthrow of the Shah.  The Ayatollah took charge and things haven’t gone well since. In 2009 President Obama passed on backing the Iranian Green Revolution.

The UN condemned Israel for it’s raid on the blockade running “Peace Flotilla”, sponsored in part in Turkey.  Netanyahu remained defiant, claiming the craft was not the “Loveboat”.  Krauthammer thinks the blockade is more than justified.  Peter Beinart says it must go. Beinart’s old boss at the New Republic, Marty Peretz, had the bad manners to bring up the Armenian Genocide.
